Using command prompt to update the time – Windows XP

The following command can be used in the command prompt to update the time in Windows XP/Vista. The sntp source can be changed to any other server which is running the time service, for example a domain controller.

net time /setsntp:time.windows.com

Please note that Windows Time Service requires outbound UDP port 123 to be open on your firewall for time synchronizations to occur.
