[SOLVED] MAC OS – Unable to add the domain (error type 14910)

Problem:

When attempting to authenticate (or log on) using a Active Directory domain account the authentication fails – the log on prompt shakes.

When attempting to bind (add) a MAC OS system to an Active Directory domain the bind fails and you get the following error message:

Unable to add the domain.

An unexpected error of type - 14910 (eServerError) occurred.

MACOS-FailBind1

Solution:

This issue is usually caused by discrepancies between the time on the Active Directory Domain Controller servers and the MAC OS systems.

To resolve:

  1. Check the time is correct on all Domain Controllers
  2. Check the time is correct on the MAC OS system
  3. Attempt to rebind the MAC OS system to the Active Directory domain.
