Exchange 2007 – Removing Mailboxes

Mailboxes can be removed through the Exchange Management Console by simply navigating to the ‘Recipent Configuration -> Mailbox’ tree, right-clicking on the desired mailbox and selecting Remove.

Please note:

This will also remove the user account from Active Directory.

To keep the Active Directory account and remove only the mail box you will need to select Disable after right-clicking on the desired mailbox.
