By default, when VLC media player changes tracks a notification appears at the bottom right of the screen.
In Windows 10 this also comes with a sound which is annoying and distracts from the video or music you’re playing.
The steps below show how to disable the notification in VLC media player — if you want to just disable the sound, see Windows 10 – How to disable notification sounds.
- With VLC media player open, click on the ‘Tools’ menu then click on ‘Preferences’
- Using the ‘Simple‘ interface (“Show settings” option at bottom left of window) – change ‘Show media change popup’ to ‘Never’
- Click ‘Save’ to save the changes.
