Occasionally you may receive videos inside a ZIP or RAR file.
Something a lot of people don’t realise is that VLC Media Player can play files inside a ZIP or RAR file – saving you the time and space to extract the files.
To do this simply open VLC Media Player and drag and drop the ZIP/RAR file into the window.
Note – this DOES NOT work for other formats (e.g. 7z / 7Zip , tar etc) or password protected files.
If it doesn’t work for password protected files then the person who wrote this should state that!
Also plays .tar archives.
I tried this with the latest version of VLC, and the zip file (not 7z!) is a totally unrecognized file format.
RAR file is used to store other files inside,it is a compressed folder if you want to open RAR files then you have to UNRAR it you need to download it from internet using free tool.open-rar-file.

This method does not work. i tried it three times with different 7-z files and it will not play. I’m so tried of people given out half ass answers that worth shit.

Only ZIP and RAR files which are NOT password protected.
