Windows 7 – Remove Saved Passwords

Are you having troubles connecting to your Outlook email, a website or server? Has this only started since you changed your password?

You may have saved the password to the Windows Credentials Manager by using the ‘Save Password’ tick box.

The following steps can be used to check the saved password list and remove any you do not want stored.

  1. On the keyboard, press the Windows (Flag) button and ‘R’
  2. Enter in control keymgr.dll
  3. Press ‘OK’
  4. Locate the name of the website, server or service which applies (e.g. myserver) and click on the down arrow to expand the options
  5. Click on the ‘Remove from vault’ to remove the saved password.
