Windows 7 – Enable Auto Logon

The following process describes how to enable auto logon for a Windows 7 computer which IS NOT a member of an Active Directory domain.

Enable Auto Logon for Windows 7

  1. Using the keyboard press the Windows button + R
  2. Enter in control userpasswords2
  3. MSWindows8-Autologon1
  4. select the account you need to automatically logon with
  5. then un-tick the ‘Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer’ option

  7. Click ‘OK’
  8. Enter in the password for the account and click ‘OK’
  9. MSWindows8-Autologon3
  10. and you’re done! Restart the computer and watch as Windows logs in automatically.
